By fumaggine we mean a group of saprophytic fungi that formally do not attack the plant, but which feed on sugary substances (honeydew) that are produced by aphids and cochineal and by Metcalfa pruinosa, therefore being a secondary phyto-pathology, fumaggine is a very common problem for plants in the garden covering the leaves with a black patina. The patina prevents the plant from receiving the light it needs to live.

There are many botanical species on which the fumaggine is formed, the main ones are laurel, citrus, olive, oleander, gardenia, jasmine, fig.
For an effective fight you must first
eliminate the cause of this disease, namely the honeydew. The use of specific biological products, which we will discuss later, against the parasites that produce it, usually after a short time determine the disappearance of even the elimination of fungi.

There are also important external factors, excessive irrigation, excessive use of pesticides.

So to intervene we must first eliminate the harmful insects with white oil for the cottony cochineal of citrus fruits and to eliminate the residual smoke on the vegetation just use the soft potassium soap and for safety a treatment based on Copper. Cleaning the main leaves is a chore to do after giving the soft soap.
